By introducing this functionality, ProCredit Bank has made it possible for clients to pay securely via the Internet with the help of a 3D Secure one-time authorization code and to protect themselves from potential misuse of card data. This code is received via an SMS message to a mobile phone number registered with ProCredit Bank. For payment security, the authorization code can only be used for one payment within 180 seconds. The same code cannot be used for several different payments.
Checking the authenticity of payments on 3D Secure sites depends on the website on the Internet where the client wants to make the payment. If the e-Commerce merchant on the Internet supports 3D Secure payment, then the client will automatically be required to verify the authenticity of the card via the 3D Secure platform.
